holiday
Yes, cor blimey, I”m actually going on holiday this year. Many thanks to Ben and Jenny for doing the organising. We are off to sunny Florida for two weeks In other news, this site is now live (i.e. on the big bad internet). Webcam added to site.

Minor drupal improvements
Five things so far: installed truck-mmcache to speedup php. had to hack /etc/php4/apache2/php.ini manually – it”s a bug in the package turned on “clean urls” in Drupal to avoid the “q?…” rubbish in URLs at the cost of performance. Hint: you need to edit /etc/drupal/htaccess (symlinked from /usr/share/drupal/.htaccess) if drupal is in a subdir. hacked [...]

Well this is day one of the new website. Not much up yet, but a fair amount of work to get to this stage, namely upgrading to apache2, a bit of work to configure postgresql, and a little work to install drupal. With luck and some effort, this will be a more dynamic website than [...]

Ah, good session of squash today after a too-long break from it due to work getting in the way. Ignoring the second game completely, and conveniently forgetting the first game (which was alright) the last two games were pretty close – 9-8, 6-6 (with me losing as usual).
