Ovum – oh dear
Amusing [http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/01/17/ovum_l_m/ story] of the week about Ovum. Google news still has the old incorrect version in the cache I’d have sympathy, but a website where each paragraph is highlighted in red and underlined when your mouse goes over it deserves a miserable death. We have all seen Internet shorthand adopted by the world at large. From acronymns such as [http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Appendix:Internet_slang#R ROTFL] through [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emoticon smileys] and other usage such as \o/ (person with arms raised as a “yay!” sign) and “o/” (person waving hello/goodbye or for attention). I’ve been meaning to lookout for a program which allows me more power to edit textareas (i.e. large text boxes) in firefox. Every now and again I want search and replace functionality for example. Fixed firefly/mt-daapd crash
I have firefly (aka mt-daapd) as my music server which my soundbridge wifi gizmo reads from. In firefly I have configured a playlist of “all MP3 files” – however after scanning a few thousand the soundbridge gives an error. “Oh no, there are too many” I thought at first, but actually, it was firefly crashing.
