Most network settings are covered in network. However it is worth mentioning that running "ethtool -K eth0 tx off" improved domU -> domU bandwidth almost ten-fold.

After the initial debootstrap (part of the xen-create-image):

  • configure the timezone (tzconfig)
  • to set TZ, I had to rerun "dpkg-reconfigure tzdata"
